Summit Christian School students and staff were blessed when Ohio State Senator Kristina Roegner paid a visit to the school. Mrs. Fleser, SCS Head of School, shared: "What a joy it was to meet and get to know Senator Roegner! Beyond the personable conversation, she is passionate about serving in her position and equally so about education and school choice."
Senator Roegner, a native of Hudson, is serving her second term in the Ohio Senate representing the 27th Senate District which includes Ohioans living in parts of Summit County. In the Senate, Senator Roegner Chairs the Government Oversight and Reform Committee, and serves as Vice Chair of the Senate Ways and Means Committee. She joined the Senate after serving four terms in the Ohio House from 2011-2018 and as an elected member of Hudson City Council from 2005-2010.
During her time on campus, Senator Roegner met with school leaders, toured the campus, and visited with students. She also presented SCS with a proclamation of congratulations from the Ohio Senate to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the school. SCS Board of Education President, Mr. Ted Shure, stated: "Senator Roegner’s visit to Summit Christian School underscores her undying advocacy of school choice and she was clearly thrilled to see the EdChoice Scholarship Program put to such good use at our school as she witnessed, first-hand, the picture of heaven that we are blessed to have within our walls. I hope that her experience at Summit will continue to inspire her to fight for the future of our children as they are the future of our world!"
